LINK: 40 years later, drummer Alan White still saying yes To Yes

 — This year, Alan White is taking a time trip back to his first days in the progressive rock band Yes. On its tour, the band is playing three of its albums in their entirety including “Close To The Edge,” the 1973 album recorded just before White joined the band.
At the time, Yes was enjoying its first wave of arena-filling popularity. White was ready for the big stage, having had several high-profile gigs over the preceding three years. But he certainly couldn’t have predicted that Yes would become his life’s work as a drummer.
“Before I was in Yes, I was playing with Joe Cocker for about six months,” White said. “And prior to that, obviously, I had done John Lennon and George Harrison albums and all of that kind of stuff. So I was kind of living in that kind of (arena headlining) world anyway at that time.
