Cream bassist Jack Bruce sells his White Rooms

The three musicians who made up Sixties supergroup Cream represent between them the full range of fates that can befall rock artists.  With Eric Clapton on guitar, Jack Bruce on bass and Ginger Baker on drums, they produced a string of classic hits such as I Feel Free, Sunshine Of Your Love and White Room.

While Clapton went on to forge the most successful solo career and build up a wealth estimated at £125 million, Baker is currently facing severe financial difficulties at his polo farm in South Africa.




Bruce is the one in the middle – he takes the lion’s share of Cream’s royalties, having written the majority of the band’s songs, a sore point for Baker, who is reportedly still bitter over the arrangement.
