Twenty-three YouTube musicians who have never met make beautiful music together thanks to one innovative composer.
The musician Kutiman released a new online video that is part of his “Thru-You” project that takes pieces of music posted on YouTube by various people and edits it together to make something new.
Ophir Kutiel, 32, of Israel, told the Daily News he began working on the concept after watching an assortment of musicians on YouTube delivering instructional videos. Kutiel said he has been playing several instruments since he was a child but enjoys watching the videos as a refresher and to pick up new tips and techniques.
After seeing a drummer demonstrating a unique rhythm he got the idea to add the sound to another musician on YouTube.
