THOM THE WORLD POET: The Daily Poem

"Thom the World poet is an old mate of mine from way back in my history. Even pre-dating Voiceprint, when I was running "Otter Songs" and Tom's poetry tapes and guest appearances with Daevid Allen, Gilli Smyth Mother Gong are well known and highly regarded. It just felt right to include a daily poem from Thom on our Gonzo blog and when I approached him to do so, he replied with in seconds!!! Thom is a great talent and just wants to spread poetry, light and positive energy across the globe. If we at Gonzo can help him do that - why not? why not indeed!!" UNDER THE COUNTER(INTUITIVE)

Science loves simple solutions/"elegant"theories

Throwing money @a problem does not make it glow away

Education funding may not produce scholars

Life is more multivalent than cliche

Trees have good PR-they have beauty,efficiency,efficacy

and we all grew up with them-so they have childhood friends and allies

They are the heroes of LORD OF THE RINGS

and their preservation(heritage  and rainforest)is essential

We do not need mono-species pine plantations(newspapers do!

We do need to change our diet.Cattle eat grain resources ,use land,emit gases

We must wean ourselves away from cars and trucks(Obvious!)

We need to make our chosen cities less heat capturing centers of intense pollution

Planting trees (appropriate to the area-and multispecies)is a start

We are the problem.Our lifestyle kills our support systems.

We need to change -more than our way of thinking..

I speak to the 7 billion breathing a limited air supply..

Walk.Bicycle.Carshare.Ride a bus(if you can find one

and plant more trees..in your garden..
