THOM THE WORLD POET: The Daily Poem

"Thom the World poet is an old mate of mine from way back in my history. Even pre-dating Voiceprint, when I was running "Otter Songs" and Tom's poetry tapes and guest appearances with Daevid Allen, Gilli Smyth Mother Gong are well known and highly regarded. It just felt right to include a daily poem from Thom on our Gonzo blog and when I approached him to do so, he replied with in seconds!!! Thom is a great talent and just wants to spread poetry, light and positive energy across the globe. If we at Gonzo can help him do that - why not? why not indeed!!" IMMORTALITY?

SELF-IMMOLATION  AS A BUDDHIST ART FORM

Like the cutting of flesh for vultures to eat

Exposing to the elements,to fire or to air

Top die by choice-or to release all art

so it evaporates its possessive powers away

I knew a man who gave away every thing-

his arms ,his legs,his feet,his face

He wanted to change-in core and essence

So he gave himself away

Another woman-masked and mysterious

changed identities every time she appeared

She did not want to be ONE THING for anyone

Facets of a jewel that changed like Uluru in light

Art is more than objects-it is a process of creating wax wings and fires

just to see which one survives...
