THOM THE WORLD POET: The Daily Poem

"Thom the World poet is an old mate of mine from way back in my history. Even pre-dating Voiceprint, when I was running "Otter Songs" and Tom's poetry tapes and guest appearances with Daevid Allen, Gilli Smyth Mother Gong are well known and highly regarded. It just felt right to include a daily poem from Thom on our Gonzo blog and when I approached him to do so, he replied with in seconds!!! Thom is a great talent and just wants to spread poetry, light and positive energy across the globe. If we at Gonzo can help him do that - why not? why not indeed!!" IT IS AUSTRALIA DAY 2015

i am meditating upon pies.

4 and 20 were our childhood faves-

with "Mystery Meat" of scraps of

horse,donkey,whatever-in a sweet brown gravy

within a crust of baked dough.YUM!

Nowadays,veggie pies,seafood pies

have largely replaced generic COLES STORE pies

which were uniformly tasting of mince and gravy

as in the English tradition of "all scraps in":

My taste buds seek replication-

so i to AUSSIE PIE COMPANY

where clean facsimiles are presented-

Guinness ,steak and potato-ALL the hits

but something has happened to the politics of pies

I eat past pies,dream Republics..
