THOM THE WORLD POET: The Daily Poem

Rob Ayling writes:

"Thom the World poet is an old mate of mine from way back in my history. Even pre-dating Voiceprint, when I was running "Otter Songs" and Tom's poetry tapes and guest appearances with Daevid Allen, Gilli Smyth and Mother Gong are well known and highly regarded. It just felt right to include a daily poem from Thom on our Gonzo blog and when I approached him to do so, he replied with in seconds!!! Thom is a great talent and just wants to spread poetry, light and positive energy across the globe. If we at Gonzo can help him do that - why not? why not indeed!!" (The wondrous poetpic is by Jack McCabe, who I hope forgives me for scribbling all over it with Photoshop)

YOU KNOW.IN THIS ROOM.WINDOWS
Always somewhere to see through.Prison cells.Iron bars.Solitary
Meditating on a leaf.Tiny as a thought.Within.A Garden.Green over gray
If you stay long enough-things change. With or without us-happens any way.
Take that anonymous bird.Curious .Singing Tree Branch Mornings.
Your soul spirit freed from pain punishment imprisonment
Empty hungry homeless Buddhist stand waiting for eyes to see
Hands in supplication.Prayer is a garden.Green branches bird singing choirs
Tree before church.Before bird.Before song.Water before tree.Circles.Time lines.
Elders chainsawed.Dutch Elm Disease.Tree Blight.Closed System Church.
Every songbird needs sanctuary.Hence Branch.Tree.Forest.Wild
You can hear the morning in the beaks of birds. In the trill of Light

Forest better than Church.Bird on branch of Tree of Life.Sings her morning heart into birth
