The end of July saw the final re-issues of the Led Zeppelin catalog drop, as expanded editions of “Presence,” “Coda” and “In Through the Out Door’ not only were released, but also made a significant dent in the charts, with the latter even cracking the Top 10.

Now, after spending the past few years intensively working on the project, many people are expecting Zeppelin guitarist Jimmy Page to put out some long-awaited new material and begin performing live again. Unfortunately, that may be delayed a bit as he’s thinking about going back to the archives. Not for more Led Zep material, but for the short-lived outfit XYZ.

Put together in early 1981 after a chance meeting over the holidays, the group featured Page and drummer Alan White and bassist Chris Squire, both of whom came from the prog-rock band Yes. Yes officially announced its breakup in March 1981 despite having been privately disbanded months earlier.
