THOM THE WORLD POET: The Daily Poem

"Thom the World poet is an old mate of mine from way back in my history. Even pre-dating Voiceprint, when I was running "Otter Songs" and Tom's poetry tapes and guest appearances with Daevid Allen, Gilli Smyth and Mother Gong are well known and highly regarded. 

It just felt right to include a daily poem from Thom on our Gonzo blog and when I approached him to do so, he replied with in seconds!!! Thom is a great talent and just wants to spread poetry, light and positive energy across the globe. If we at Gonzo can help him do that - why not?"

FUKUSHIMA SUSHI

Radioactive tuna

Contaminated shrimp

Mass harvesting

Throw away all that will not fetch a profit!

Seagulls peck at blood and guts discarded

Once,we would go down to the jelly fish pier

Throw in a line and wait for poetry to appear

from our Great Barrier Reef

where rainbow fish are protected

until commerce makes coal ports

dumps detritus /Crown of Thorns starfish

Once was a Norman Rockwell /now Jackson Pollock

Ask where your seafood flies in from

Frozen from Chile/China/Taiwan?Fresh from the Gulf?

BP pays billions to bribe our food chain

Birds cannot eat oil/again..
