"Thom the World poet is an old mate of mine from way back in my history. Even pre-dating Voiceprint, when I was running "Otter Songs" and Tom's poetry tapes and guest appearances with Daevid Allen, Gilli Smyth and Mother Gong are well known and highly regarded. It just felt right to include a daily poem from Thom on our Gonzo blog and when I approached him to do so, he replied within seconds!!! "I,Too,Sing America"

and i will not shoot black people

nor drop bombs upon others

nor claim self-righteousness

Yet,this germ of free speech lives

sans guilt,sans guns,sans doctrines

improvising morning ballades /evening psalms

for the gods and goddesses who fail us

Mown grass,illegal weeds,police violence

We pay twice.I do not defer to violence

"A bomb is a failed conversation"

"A bullet a failed poem"

Every line of birdsong redeems us

Extending peace on our only Earth home.
