THOM THE WORLD POET: The Daily Poem

Rob Ayling, yer Gonzo Grande Fromage, writes:

"Thom the World poet is an old mate of mine from way back in my history. Even pre-dating Voiceprint, when I was running "Otter Songs" and Tom's poetry tapes and guest appearances with Daevid Allen, Gilli Smyth and Mother Gong are well known and highly regarded. It just felt right to include a daily poem from Thom on our Gonzo blog and when I approached him to do so, he replied within seconds!!! Thom is a great talent and just wants to spread poetry, light and positive energy across the globe. If we at Gonzo can help him do that - why not?"

ADAPTATION&FUTUROLOGY
Old fixed ideas are like fixed bayonets
Market disruptors change modes incrementally
Hence-subsidizing disabled  people needing transport
or offering Smartphones to people seeking work
We are cities in gridlock. Most cars are inefficient
in that they carry one passenger and are largely parked.
Roads cost billions and are traffic attractors.
There is a conflict between private and public uses.
Demonstrators point out that destruction of green space for roads
is also inefficient.Mass transit works in densely concentrated areas
but fails the too young, too old, disabled and poor. These are also those
who may have no car,nor access to one.Today,i listened to an elder in a wheelchair-
"I was caught in that storm yesterday, and my electric mobility chair failed".

"How did you solve this?"(i asked)."I got wet!"was the reply.
