THOM THE WORLD POET: The Daily Poem

Rob Ayling, yer Gonzo Grande Fromage, writes:

"Thom the World poet is an old mate of mine from way back in my history. Even pre-dating Voiceprint, when I was running "Otter Songs" and Thom's poetry tapes and guest appearances with Daevid Allen, Gilli Smyth and Mother Gong are well known and highly regarded. It just felt right to include a daily poem from Thom on our Gonzo blog and when I approached him to do so, he replied within seconds!!! Thom is a great talent and just wants to spread poetry, light and positive energy across the globe. If we at Gonzo can help him do that - why not?"

BATTALIONS OF BUTTERFLIES OF BEAUTY
FLITTERING THROUGH YOUR WINGED DREAMS-
Here comes Hafiz,laughing with Kabir
Where is Mirabai?and Lalla?
There is Michael-Fitzgerald Clarke, listening to Keats again
(Time and distance have no limits and no laws in dreams)
Adrian Mitchell mixes with Amanda Palmer and Kate Tempest
like Catullus  and Horace are comparing notes with Francois Villon
Rilke and Rimbaud laugh at gun-running,while New Plaestine
resonates with Naomi Shihab Nye and her beloved father.
Nancy Willard is in there, with Erica Jong and D H Lawrence
Mary Oliver Ruminates among the Wild Geese
And you are so bewildered by this profusion of midnight visitations
You stutter Coleridge and Blake and Wordsworth and Shelley and  Zen-

You Can Never Go Back To Sleep Again!
