THOM THE WORLD POET: The Daily Poem

"Thom the World poet is an old mate of mine from way back in my history. Even pre-dating Voiceprint, when I was running "Otter Songs" and Thom's poetry tapes and guest appearances with Daevid Allen, Gilli Smyth and Mother Gong are well known and highly regarded. It just felt right to include a daily poem from Thom on our Gonzo blog and when I approached him to do so, he replied within seconds!!! Thom is a great talent and just wants to spread poetry, light and positive energy across the globe. If we at Gonzo can help him do that - why not?

DISPLACEMENT&UGLIFICATION

Transform country into suburbs then high rise city scapes

People see shrub and bush and trees as waste space

"Non-productive"use of land,while mining and logging

are praised for their profiteering.Both are invasive

and destructive of flora and fauna.Both cost to remediate.

Why not dedicate more Parks and Preserves in their wild state?

Let the bison run free,and the bear ,and wolf,and fox

If there are no competing claims for land usage

then trees can grow again,bushes and shrubs as well..

You.We.All.can thrive when Nature is allowed space and time to grow.

It is harder once a city parks by a river,to ever regain water quality again.

Same with roads and air .Mountains and strip mining.

Nature knows we are not compatible with Gaia.

one of us has to leave.Usually,it is the trees..
