THOM THE WORLD POET: The Daily Poem

"Thom the World poet is an old mate of mine from way back in my history. Even pre-dating Voiceprint, when I was running "Otter Songs" and Thom's poetry tapes and guest appearances with Daevid Allen, Gilli Smyth and Mother Gong are well known and highly regarded. It just felt right to include a daily poem from Thom on our Gonzo blog and when I approached him to do so, he replied within seconds!!! Thom is a great talent and just wants to spread poetry, light and positive energy across the globe. If we at Gonzo can help him do that - why not?

BORDERS ATTRACT WALLS/WARS-&REFUGEES

LONG BEFORE US-NO WALLS/NO BORDERS

After us-different walls,different borders

For languages and customs come with invasions

Curry now the top food in England

Spanish the second language in Texas

Even when Black Irish from the Spanish Armada

and North Korean schools still within Japan

Culture comes after the troops depart

Crimea/Ukraine Russian speakers

Cyprus for both Turks and Greeks

Who claims the New Cuisine?

How many Chinatowns in cities?

Hadrian's Wall still tiny as tourists

Yet Scotland still seeks Independence

Romans never conquered Cornwall

Who speaks Cornish?Gaelic?After all-

Borders are linguistic and cultural

You do not need a Wall @all..
