THOM THE WORLD POET: The Daily Poem

"Thom the World poet is an old mate of mine from way back in my history. Even pre-dating Voiceprint, when I was running "Otter Songs" and Thom's poetry tapes and guest appearances with Daevid Allen, Gilli Smyth and Mother Gong are well known and highly regarded. It just felt right to include a daily poem from Thom on our Gonzo blog and when I approached him to do so, he replied within seconds!!! Thom is a great talent and just wants to spread poetry, light and positive energy across the globe. If we at Gonzo can help him do that - why not?

THIS IS NOT JUST FOR YOU

It is for all those who rely upon your writings-

those who have already read your works,and those who never will

It is also for those who ban your writings,and who imprison you

They need your wisdom ,too.What you say and do defines you

Are you the bird that sings?or the cage surrounding?

Are you the song that flies?or the silence surrounding?

Will you be walls-or waters?(flowing/free)

Every time your eyes scan this petition/know that it is not just me

who wants you to be heard/to be freed.It is the person reading this

who will write your next petition.Wanting you -to sing!
