THOM THE WORLD POET: The Daily Poem

Rob Ayling, yer Gonzo Grande Fromage, writes:

"Thom the World poet is an old mate of mine from way back in my history. Even pre-dating Voiceprint, when I was running "Otter Songs" and Thom's poetry tapes and guest appearances with Daevid Allen, Gilli Smyth and Mother Gong are well known and highly regarded. It just felt right to include a daily poem from Thom on our Gonzo blog and when I approached him to do so, he replied within seconds!!! Thom is a great talent and just wants to spread poetry, light and positive energy across the globe. If we at Gonzo can help him do that - why not?

2019 LEAVES OF GRASS
winter garden
even the weeds have bones

we pass
like swung kite clouds

my scraps feed
scavenger birds

heart based remedies
cure head based woes

bed my raft
in your ocean arms

we could not afford height
because of the distance

cuts in my skin
heal with your touch

cut my hair off
when love left

swan songs
last lifetimes

my skin shrinks like tides
like hair lines.like life lines

cancer called
but she was not @home

retired now-all you were
a box of photographs

my silent heart drum
loves your skin song

sounds of devotion
rising through green forests

sterile.hospital
even the bandage  needs a wound.

your silence.snapped shut
my speech sword.

habit repeats us.
