Continuous rain at Brisfest left diminished audiences but the show went on with headline acts De La Soul and Hawkind playing alongside local bands at Bristol's festival of music, arts, dance, theatre and comedy.
The second day of Bristol's community festival, Brisfest started with heavy rain which only stopped briefly during the 11 hours of the event. The numbers attending were dramatically fewer than Saturday but the entertainment went on regardless. Hundreds of festival-goers didn't let the rain spoil the party which saw legendary rock bank Hawkwind followed by Hip Hop group De La Soul performing to an enthusiastic audience. During the day there had been many local bands and DJs on eleven stages as well as dance, theatre, workshops and comedy.
In its 5th year, Brisfest 2012 has been a resounding success. Although attendance was poor today, many would have bought weekend tickets and been there on Saturday when the festival was packed out. Tickets sold out in advance. Festival-goers are giving the event a resounding thumbs up with the only negative remarks being around queues for beer and toilets on Saturday.
