No more the smell of dung,from cages and chained animals..

PLAYLIST: 09-01-2022 – SHOW 444 – Elvis vs The Beatles

Strange Fruit is a unique two-hour radio show exploring the world of underground, strange and generally neglected music. All shows are themed and all shows set out to give the most hardened of sound-hounds some new delight to sample.

The show is also unique in providing homework for undergraduate students on North West Kent College’s Foundation Degree in Professional Writing (who dig up many of the odd facts featured in the links between tracks). 

Neil Nixon, the founder and presenter of the show has released a book about rare albums for Gonzo Multimedia. 

The show is broadcast on Miskin Radio every Sunday from 10-00-midnight.

And there are radio shows from Mack Maloney and Friday Night Progressive, AND Merrell Fankhauser, Mr Biffo, Puls8 Radio, and the Real Music Club, AND Strange Fruit, there is a column from Kev Rowland, and C.J Stone but Mr Biffo, and Neil Nixon, are on hiatus. There is also a collection of more news, reviews, views, interviews and dibblers who have got the blues (OK, nothing to do with tiny marsupials who are listening to the new Bob Dylan album, but I got carried away with things that rhymed with OOOOS) than you can shake a stick at. Young   taste is for rap,jazz and trip-hop,

where words and sounds conjoin in   meaning

to argue   and petition in new dreaming.

Comic verse  has  used  rhyme  for wit

Folk versions of old limericks/song lyrics

Armories of  harmonies translate Rilke/Brecht

through  English's mercantile predicaments

French romance,Italian decadence,Germanic cadence

in an Esperanto  of  translations.Arthur Waley failed  me.

Robert  Bly  offered Rumi  (though  he   could not speak Farsi)

Dylan Thomas  failed Welsh .Pagan rhymes informed Yeats.

Our worlds  enriched via International  Anthems

each based   upon  some  past  precedent(which is Folk

in all her bastard slant rhymes,near rhymes,mock rhymes

from  HALLMARK to McGonagall to VOGON(worst  poetry   in   the Universe)

Cultural   appropriation   subsumes all  literary traditions

Only folk allows all  forms of   rhyming    manifestations
