7.10am THIS VERY MORNING(AWAITING)
#1 in the Midas Garage waiting lane.
#2 comes in a Tundra. He is human-so we converse
He is here for the GROUPON COUPON(and so am i)
He buys junk cars, sells them to Mexicans
who repair them and sell them to the unsuspecting..
He also sells to Californian auctions.where he only gets 20%
but prices of cars are HIGH as California. His girlfriend does the same.
They used to compete,but now they co-operate/share the TOP DOLLAR profits'
He has been doing this for a decade in Austin. He looks at my Antique Buick,
shares that it would get $300 at a junkyard. We both smile.When inside,
he shares his Groupon .We both know MIDAS will find fault with our cars,
but i have no cash,and he has Mexican mechanics.We both smile,
knowing the litany of car defects fills time and pages..One by one,
we leave,with the usual warnings,cautions and quotations for repairs shared..
We both wave good-bye-King Midas in reverse...
