MY HEART DOCTOR IS SO POPULAR
He is booked up a year in advance
Mortality means sometimes there are vacancies
So i winged in ,did a stress test,barely passed
He told me I was lucky.His previous patient
died from a stroke.My blocked heart is not fatal..
but if ..and then..i realized the truth of life-
Every heartbeat may be counted,but no one knows the end.
Mini-strokes come more often than any heart attack,and
life is fickle ,random and often magical.My heart continues to beat.
I cannot see it except on an EKG screen.I applaud this hearty volunteer,
who persists without a breath lost(until the last,and even Zen
may be convinced via electric shock to fibrillate again..I guess that i am lucky..
that this Doctor cares enough to warn ..not to trust to stress or poor diet..and to move
as if my very life depended upon it-because it does..
