THOM THE WORLD POET: The Daily Poem

"Thom the World poet is an old mate of mine from way back in my history. Even pre-dating Voiceprint, when I was running "Otter Songs" and Thom's poetry tapes and guest appearances with Daevid Allen, Gilli Smyth and Mother Gong are well known and highly regarded. It just felt right to include a daily poem from Thom on our Gonzo blog and when I approached him to do so, he replied within seconds!!! Thom is a great talent and just wants to spread poetry, light and positive energy across the globe. If we at Gonzo can help him do that - why not?"

ROAD KILL

TRAFFIC LIGHTS.CAR ACCIDENT

Seems one of these metal came to earth with some earth creature

Living talk.Joke.Laugh.Discuss exactly what happened

See eye/on the side-brown bulk kangaroo.

Heaving/breathing/bloodied/dying

I hold her paw and look into her huge eye

Look deep into her dark and see all the night sky.

One star/fell.

KOOKABURRA

On the way to Down to Earth

Something smashed into my windshield

I stop and retrieve a shocked and shattered morning jackass

Her beak was bleeding and her eyes were dull.I wrapped her in a blanket and drove on.

I set up tent and fed her grass and insects.When i awoke

This bird had flown.

BLACK SNAKE

Hitchhiking.Northern Territory

Dropped off in the Middle of Nowhere

Look eye on the roadway.Curled black snake

Perhaps seeking comfort and warmth.
