DUTCH GARDENING CLUB REVIEW

http://progopinion.blogspot.com/

What a week ... CD THE GARDENING CLUB - The GC (1983/2016) Released in 1983 ... ... while the gunpowder fumes of the punk and new wave were barely erected, ' The Gardening Club ' by Martin Springett seen as "the right album at the wrong time". The work has therefore escaped attention. Hence this beautiful Gonzo Multimedia reissue with impressive art work and five bonus tracks.

The 15 tracks let classical progressive rock with influences from the symph and folk with many associations with the early Genesis and especially Camel. Where the wind players play a role I even hear a touch of Soft Machine. The vocals of Springett are beautiful, sometimes too beautiful and too good, there could have been a raffle. The extensive staffing plays technically high and the whole is contained in a beautiful, warm production.I canindeed suggest that in 1983 attention went to other music. The neo-prog that also emerged in those days also tolerated less of this type of work. That is why this reissue is so right because it is an excellent album with melodic progressive rock. Springett is still active and is working on a new album from The Gardening Club. Do not let it escape your attention now! Harry de Vries (what a week 01)

...BECAUSE SOME OF US THINK THAT THIS STUFF IS IMPORTANT
What happens when you mix what is - arguably - the world's most interesting record company, with an anarchist manic-depressive rock music historian polymath, and a method of dissemination which means that a daily rock-music magazine can be almost instantaneous?

Most of this blog is related in some way to the music, books and films produced by Gonzo Multimedia, but the editor has a grasshopper mind and so also writes about all sorts of cultural issues which interest him, and which he hopes will interest you as well.
