THOM THE WORLD POET: The Daily Poem

Rob Ayling, yer Gonzo Grande Fromage, writes:

"Thom the World poet is an old mate of mine from way back in my history. Even pre-dating Voiceprint, when I was running "Otter Songs" and Thom's poetry tapes and guest appearances with Daevid Allen, Gilli Smyth and Mother Gong are well known and highly regarded. It just felt right to include a daily poem from Thom on our Gonzo blog and when I approached him to do so, he replied within seconds!!! Thom is a great talent and just wants to spread poetry, light and positive energy across the globe. If we at Gonzo can help him do that - why not?

 WHEN THE SHADOWS OF DEPARTING FRIENDS
OVERWHELM OUR FLICKERING CANDLE HOPES
We turn to look @what our peers are doing-
with patience,persistence and perspicacity
they lift slower feet towards a smaller light..
Create what is possible within tumult and storms
Remain in Light while anger and violence clash
"Be the change they wish to see in this world"
As examples ,they are all i see.Their bravery and wisdom illuminates
Paths appear where cynics do not see/there is always a way
There is always a way out.We may be small ,fragile,flickering
Community is village level-both world and local
Whenever we meet and greet,it is a living affirmation

And that is why i look forward to seeing/hearing you again
