THOM THE WORLD POET: The Daily Poem

"Thom the World poet is an old mate of mine from way back in my history. Even pre-dating Voiceprint, when I was running "Otter Songs" and Thom's poetry tapes and guest appearances with Daevid Allen, Gilli Smyth and Mother Gong are well known and highly regarded. It just felt right to include a daily poem from Thom on our Gonzo blog and when I approached him to do so, he replied within seconds!!! Thom is a great talent and just wants to spread poetry, light and positive energy across the globe. If we at Gonzo can help him do that - why not?

When did Compassion become "Conservative"

War is not Peace.Freedom is not Slavery.

Refugees are not Criminals.Children are not adults.

"My friends-We must restore to words/their original meaning"

So saieth Yevgeny Yevtushenko in 1965.Still true today.

Praising dictators is not democracy.

Imprisoning writers is not free speech.

Splitting families defies common sense.

What we want are those rights every person desires-

Freedom of speech&Assembly.Freedom to practice beliefs

without fear of pogrom,Crusade or jihad.To  have shelter

and food,clean water and air.To be peacefully with others

so "Community"means more than Radio stations.

To give respect to all,each,every-no matter what sex,race,age or change..

To encourage equality so no one is persecuted

To pour pure energies into supporting the young

as they come in to the front lines-and write their own...!
