ONCE UPON A CIVIL WAR
Southern states were reliant upon
cotton crops for wealth
Yet,when ports were blockaded,and
markets could not be reached
other countries such as Egypt filled
the needs of Manchester's textile mills.
This new-found wealth only lasted until
the cessation of hostilities
when America re-entered the textile
markets ,and displaced Egypt.
So much like today's shifting of cheap
labor markets
from MADE IN JAPAN to MADE IN
CHINA
from PRODUCT OF SHEFFIELD to PRODUCT OF
INDONESIA.
The New World has always sought slaves
for cheap goods.
East India Companies expanded British
and Dutch trade routes
International Market mechanisms are
omnivorous.Who's Next?
