THOM THE WORLD POET: The Daily Poem

Rob Ayling, yer Gonzo Grande Fromage, writes: 

"Thom the World poet is an old mate of mine from way back in my history. Even pre-dating Voiceprint, when I was running "Otter Songs" and Thom's poetry tapes and guest appearances with Daevid Allen, Gilli Smyth and Mother Gong are well known and highly regarded. It just felt right to include a daily poem from Thom on our Gonzo blog and when I approached him to do so, he replied within seconds!!! Thom is a great talent and just wants to spread poetry, light and positive energy across the globe. If we at Gonzo can help him do that - why not?

AGE&HEALTH&ATTITUDE

Roll them up in a blanket and smoke that!

(like Willy Nelson when he finally croaks

or Dylan's voice hacking Frank Sinatra..

Is this a generational issue?Or do the young have different zones?

wherein and whereby teenage suicide,sex and social media figure highly..

Those i know are contemplating slow mortality.Some prepare,others deny.

Most adjust to limited expectations,"senior moments" and impending disabilities.

For some,death is a door  to another plane.And they may want wings.

More renew and review and repair their limbs and mind and muscles

so they might stay both sentient and ambulatory.Cane to walker to wheelchair

is a process they wish to reverse.They resist"old"/take treatments&pills

and make their Bucket List (just in case).There is no "they"

There is only you and eye.What will we do now?
