Author Kev Rowland is back on Tracy Hitchings' podcast "Tracy's Prog World" - Episode 15

Author Kev Rowland has just been interviewed by Tracy Hitchings for her podcast, which is being published in three episodes, and here is the second, which can be found here https://www.listennotes.com/podcasts/tracys-prog-world/s1-ep15-kev-rowland-xEKd3F19cUP/, or wherever you normally source your podcasts. In many ways this is returning a favour as Rowland interviewed Tracy as long ago as 1993, and she appears multiple times in his series of books on the Progressive Underground as a solo artist, frontwoman for Quasar and Landmarq, as well as many other album appearances.

A wonderful conversation between two old friends catching up for the first time in many years, this is a thoroughly enjoyable listen for anyone remotely interested in music.

ABOUT THIS EPISODE

Kev Rowland is back for the 2nd time with his riveting Prog  knowledge.  As the Author of "THE PROGRESSIVE UNDERGROUND" with the 3rd volume just released, we delve deeper.

It all started in 1990, in a pub, when Kev met a fellow associate of 'Mensa', a rock special interest group which bought to Kev's attention for the first time; (Night Moves Newsletter - 12th Night Music - Galahad and copies of a fanzine called Blindsight,) which hooked him.

A near fatal motor bike accident on the same day as the issue 50 is released, was a celebration which turned to shock!!!

Having suffered from depression Kev finds the gift in helping others.

Kev, the prolific writer, eg 2000 reviews in four years, and Olav, who lives in Norway, he does the detail.

Kev talks about the Prog Archive and the inauguration ceremony!

A wrong piece of art work make it into "Volume One! "HOLY LAMB!

Kev admits to being 'a music addict for which there is NO cure.  There are just some buggers on the scene who refuse to listen!

...BECAUSE SOME OF US THINK THAT THIS STUFF IS IMPORTANT
What happens when you mix what is - arguably - the world's most interesting record company, with an anarchist manic-depressive rock music historian polymath, and a method of dissemination which means that a daily rock-music magazine can be almost instantaneous?

Most of this blog is related in some way to the music, books and films produced by Gonzo Multimedia, but the editor has a grasshopper mind and so also writes about all sorts of cultural issues which interest him, and which he hopes will interest you as well.
