JOEY MOLLAND: Woodstock 50 is dead, but...

A large number of the Original Woodstock artists are changing venues. WE2019 is now the official place to experience the true spirit of 1969. A pair of star-packed three-day festivals unofficially marking the 50th anniversary of Woodstock will be held during back to back weekends in August. The WE2019 Experience Festivals will take place August 9-11 and August 16-18 at Saloon Studios Live in West Jefferson, North Carolina.
While Woodstock 50 is dead and couldn't pull it together, WE2019 is growing rapidly. Multi-millionaire producer Jason Atwell of AAG Live is now involved, bringing a pay per view aspect to the festival along with millions of dollars worth of production equipment and technical infrastructure. Jason Atwell is best known for his work on Latin Billboard Music Awards, Latin American music awards and many other music television shows. AAG Live will also be providing the broadcast planning and infrastructure that will allow for multiple forms of distribution. The festival will now have a nationally syndicated radio show on IHeart broadcasting their show live from the festival at various times to complete this powerhouse. Beyond the technical aspect, Mr. Atwell and his partners at Ocean and Field Holdings have been bringing in high end sponsors to make this a festival to remember for another 50 years. "My partners and staff are excited to be part of this monumental event," says Atwell. A variety of large corporations such as apple rush (APRU) are also jumping on board, pushing this event to new heights. It is rumored that many other companies are jumping on board as well.
Lineups will feature several artists who performed at the original 1969 Woodstock festival, including Canned Heat, John Sebastian, Ten Years After, Melanie and Mountain drummer Corky LaingGregg Errico, of Sly and the Family Stone, and many others like Vanilla Fudge, Jefferson Starship, Mitch Ryder and the Detroit Wheels, Joey Molland's Badfinger , Iron Butterfly and ex- Ted Nugent singer Derek St. Holmes. The lineup will also include upcoming national artist Souljam.

...BECAUSE SOME OF US THINK THAT THIS STUFF IS IMPORTANT
What happens when you mix what is - arguably - the world's most interesting record company, with an anarchist manic-depressive rock music historian polymath, and a method of dissemination which means that a daily rock-music magazine can be almost instantaneous?

Most of this blog is related in some way to the music, books and films produced by Gonzo Multimedia, but the editor has a grasshopper mind and so also writes about all sorts of cultural issues which interest him, and which he hopes will interest you as well.
