who would kiss you full on the lips at age 100
who was a star in Bolivia black and white movies
who staged a Poetry Festival in a banned language
who earned the title DECLAMADORE! when she
performed poesia e sur from memory
and brought back to us Pablo Neruda,Gabriela Mistral,Octavia Paz
and all those vibrant voices in their own tongues
For Maltide Garvia was multi-cultural and multi-lingual
able to entrance and astound via her moving delivery
Alive,she became so many stories..Even in passing,
we kissed her wax image in her coffin.But she was long gone-
her spirit in the stars with every Dancing Wu Li Master
leaving us with memories of her passion and panache-
now a hollow shell when chrysalis had transformed
into a Spirit Butterfly.Her next life awaiting..
