IT HAD BEEN A FOUR ZOOM DAY
So poetry music stories and joy filled all the virtual
On the streets of Austin,a Black Lives Matter demonstration
Near the corner of Sixth and Congress,five shots rang out
One soul taken,others running away,filming
Portlandia was supposed to be the front line-
with Grandmother Wisdom and Naked Athena
against the military police state apparatus
But now peace was shot on the streets of Austin
and all our poems and prayers and peaceful petitions
were cast aside ,as violence does not listen.
DEFUND THE APD is still the call
but now it is to be seen if APD can catch these killers
or if we need a PEACE FORCE,not a police force
to make sure that Freedom of Assembly is never Brownshirted down
by those whose only speech is the barking gun-
when poetry can only Zoom in,after the event
to soothe and heal and anneal the damaged
in trust that peaceful poetical example might solve/salve our village future...
