GERMAN MERRELL FANKHAUSER REVIEW

Okay, the story is this: the film "Rainbow Bridge" Sometime in 1970 was turned on to the U.S. state of Hawaii Maui belonging. It was about a group of drop-outs and hippies, who retired psychedelic drugs and hanging around outside at night, and spiritual discussions led by leading UFO sightings. Resp.sat around in the area and waited until they saw a UFO. What then (hüstel. ..) according to the legend did. But probably was just not always the only camera in use when one of these objects was sighted.
This whole thing probably would have been quickly forgotten or not even funded by donors, had not a certain Jimi Hendrix can be persuaded to join the project. The guitarist played at this time probably also make an appearance on Maui and after his name was at play, the film was produced and was finally published in 1972. The musician and producer Merrell Fankhauser moved to Maui in 1973 and since that time the movie was still great talking point, he also came into contact with many of the persons involved.
Last year - the fortieth anniversary of the strip - decided Fankhauser then roll up the whole thing again. And what now contains my present film "Rainbow Bridge Revisited", are about half interviews with the time involved, while the remaining term focused to show beautiful footage of Maui and surfers riding the waves, while the images then Surfmusic (most of the tracks are from Fankhauser , but also The Space Patrol and Omar & The Wave Spies are represented) are accompanied.
Whether the film itself now is interesting or not, of course, as always in the eye of the beholder. In any case, should not expect any film or even snippets of music to Jimi Hendrix to hear and see. There are, as I said, a couple of interviews and footage of surfers having their fun on - have great waves of Maui - admittedly. At the end of the first interview the respondent falls after the passage through the area more then, when he runs, leading first to raise eyebrows in the viewer.
But - credit where credit is due -. Least the accompanying soundtrack CD, and it all played out songs is really great Fankhauser has of course not only on the guitar full on it, but also a very keen sense of the right feeling with the you have to bring that style. If you have pushed the disc into the domestic players, automatically and immediately comes to real holiday feeling. The mind's eye appear beautiful beaches, clear seas and exotic fish in the most dazzling colors, palm trees swaying in the wind and iced long drinks.
Whether one "Rainbow Bridge Revisited" must have now? Not necessarily ... Interestingly likely the strip (on the music) but at least for Merrell Fankhauser - Surf Music and its fans. Or maybe even for those who know the original film "Rainbow Bridge" or have in their collection and are able to enjoy a few additional information. Or maybe for surf fans, but I think that there is for the other and most likely ergiebigeres footage.

...BECAUSE SOME OF US THINK THAT THIS STUFF IS IMPORTANT
What happens when you mix what is - arguably - the world's most interesting record company, with an anarchist manic-depressive rock music historian polymath, and a method of dissemination which means that a daily rock-music magazine can be almost instantaneous?

Most of this blog is related in some way to the music, books and films produced by Gonzo Multimedia, but the editor has a grasshopper mind and so also writes about all sorts of cultural issues which interest him, and which he hopes will interest you as well.
