Bruce Dickinson and Rick Wakeman to honor Jon Lord

Jon Lord
Jon Lord
The passing of Jon Lord in 2012 left a huge hole in the heart of many a music aficionado in both classical and rock worlds wherein this big man – who was an embodiment of dignity while retaining the ability to go wild on-stage – gained an equal respect. And now there will be a celebration of this great artist’s live, at the Royal Albert Hall, on April 4th, 2014.
Whether DEEP PURPLE or WHITESNAKE, two bands Lord was a prominent part of, are to take part in the show – current DP tour ends in February – but among those who will be there performing with The Orion Orchestra conducted by Paul Mann are Jon’s friends and colleagues Joe Brown, Rick Wakeman, Bruce Dickison and Miller Anderson. Additional names will be announced later. Tickets are available at the venue’s site.

...BECAUSE SOME OF US THINK THAT THIS STUFF IS IMPORTANT
What happens when you mix what is - arguably - the world's most interesting record company, with an anarchist manic-depressive rock music historian polymath, and a method of dissemination which means that a daily rock-music magazine can be almost instantaneous?

Most of this blog is related in some way to the music, books and films produced by Gonzo Multimedia, but the editor has a grasshopper mind and so also writes about all sorts of cultural issues which interest him, and which he hopes will interest you as well.
