VANGELIS - Title from the serie TV COSMOS

VANGELIS - Cosmos from Engel Spracht on Vimeo.
BMG Ariola Records - 1975 - Album: Heaven And HellIn its most general sense a cosmos is an orderly or harmonious system. It originates from the Greek word "κόσμος" meaning order or ornaments, and is the antithesis of chaos. Today the word is often used as a synonym for universe (considering the order with which he is). The study of the cosmos (from any point of view) is called cosmology. When this word is used as an absolute term, it means everything that exists, including what has been discovered and what is not.

The Cosmos is all that is . . .

The COSMOS TV was ready in 1980 and consisted of thirteen episodes, each about an hour long. The music used was largely the work of Vangelis, and others. He won an Emmy and a Peabody Award. The series has been aired in 60 countries and has been seen by over 500 million people. After the filming of the series, Sagan wrote the book by Cosmos, complementary to the documentary.

...BECAUSE SOME OF US THINK THAT THIS STUFF IS IMPORTANT
What happens when you mix what is - arguably - the world's most interesting record company, with an anarchist manic-depressive rock music historian polymath, and a method of dissemination which means that a daily rock-music magazine can be almost instantaneous?

Most of this blog is related in some way to the music, books and films produced by Gonzo Multimedia, but the editor has a grasshopper mind and so also writes about all sorts of cultural issues which interest him, and which he hopes will interest you as well.
