Bummerino Metropolis for local Eric Burdon fans. Citing exhaustion from touring, the famed 72-year-old former Animals frontman and all-around rock legend has regrettably canceled both of his scheduled Nashville appearances this week, including a guest spot attomorrow night's Brendan Benson and Friends benefit for the David Lynch Foundation at the Ryman and Thursday's meet-and-greet at Grimey's.
“We can assure you that this was a very difficult decision, as Eric was very excited to perform in this benefit for the David Lynch Foundation surrounded by excellent company and to greet his fans the following day,” a representative from Burdon’s label, ABKCO Music, said in a statement, imparting an apology on the singer’s behalf. "We are extremely sorry and we thank you for your support. Eric looks forward to seeing his Nashville fans at a later date."

...BECAUSE SOME OF US THINK THAT THIS STUFF IS IMPORTANT
What happens when you mix what is - arguably - the world's most interesting record company, with an anarchist manic-depressive rock music historian polymath, and a method of dissemination which means that a daily rock-music magazine can be almost instantaneous?

Most of this blog is related in some way to the music, books and films produced by Gonzo Multimedia, but the editor has a grasshopper mind and so also writes about all sorts of cultural issues which interest him, and which he hopes will interest you as well.
