ARTHUR HAD PERFORMED ORIGINAL
IMPROVISATIONS
@the first Austin International Poetry
Festival in 1993
We were his support @the Duchess of York in
Leeds
when that pub was a thriving buzz for bright
bands
He is beloved in Austin ,where in the 90s-he
lived
and worked as a house painter,and studied
spiritual paths
Last year he performed @STRANGE BREW-and was
loved into returning
Tonight ,in the chill,i am outside listenig
to hits past,present and yet to come
He finishes with improvisations/jazz and
scat.They LOVED that!
Most go away with a signed poster..but many
stayed.They did not want to leave!
His bewitching vocalisations have entranced
all-and each want a slice of him
Photos are taken,hugs and cuddles and phone
numbers shared
and the buzz will not wear off.Neither will
his VERY bright face paint .
I leave Arthur around midnight,aware that
love is what links him to this town,
STRANGE BREW,and every ghost of every person
he has ever met here.
All stand in line and wait patiently.No Royal
Family is ever beloved so willingly
It is January 9,2016.Actually,it is still
1968@Strange Brew w/Arthur Brown approaching midnight.
