THOM THE WORLD POET: The Daily Poem

"Thom the World poet is an old mate of mine from way back in my history. Even pre-dating Voiceprint, when I was running "Otter Songs" and Tom's poetry tapes and guest appearances with Daevid Allen, Gilli Smyth and Mother Gong are well known and highly regarded. It just felt right to include a daily poem from Thom on our Gonzo blog and when I approached him to do so, he replied within seconds!!! Thom is a great talent and just wants to spread poetry, light and positive energy across the globe. If we at Gonzo can help him do that - why not?"

WHERE YOU CAME FROM/WHERE YOU ARE GOING TO
World in motion/crossing borders(like convection currents
Swirls of migrants(economic),refugees(war torn)
even temporary transient visitors&tourists
add to the piquant human soup we drink our DNA from
Consider restaurants-how our diet changes
with Ethiopian/Moroccan/Manchurian additions.
How soups and stews and salads are enlivened via Thai and Vietnam
How our walled world has plates delivered-and all culture is takeaway
Those we love speak other languages/come from other cultures
They understand context,history,resonance.They absorb and respond.
How lucky we are to travel so far/to learn where we are
through the eyes of perfect strangers..
