RAZ REVIEW

"RAZ" is a singer and songwriter Michael Raz Rescigno on the stage is' The RAZ Band for 32 years. Late last year released the last studio album 'RAZ' with the album title "Madison Park". Building on that success weren't record companies Gonzo Multimedia 'a compilation album "The Best Of RAZ" bring with them 19 songs that had brought the band in those 32 years successfully on the market.

The music that brings this group is a mix of punk rock with rock'n'roll. The musical journey of "RAZ" began in 1984 when the first album the group appeared under the title "Criminals Off The Streets." Other albums from which songs for "The Best Of RAZ" were selected "The Best of LA 1987", the "RAZ" album, "1988", the ep "Listen", "Tough Love," "It's All About me "and" Madison Park ".

We have played at the end of this collector also two never on plate unreleased live tracks with "The Times Together" and "The Boy" in Los Angeles 'RAZ' in 1984 in the nightclub Madame Wong's West. Over the years also played a lot of late celebrities along with this rocking singer-songwriter. Thus we find in several numbers, the names returned from 'Badfinger' guitarist Joey Molland and Joe Vitale, who has shared the stage with Joe Walsh, among others, "Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young and The Eagles.

"Creedence Clearwater Revival' bassist Stu Cook contributes to the song" I Said To Myself; Self, "LA's singer Carla Olson even doing the lead vocals with melodic song" Sitting On My Bed "and former member of rock group Survivor 'Marc Doubray drums diligently along with the solid rock song" Down At The Gulf. "

Without ever really had big hits to his name, we are able to establish through the tracks on this fun compilation that Michael Raz Rescigno still can count on a lot of respect from his fellow musicians and also has been influential in the development of punk rock and rock music in general.

There is a raw but authentic sound heard in most of the songs on this album with 'straight-to-the-raap' songs in' Ramones' style as "The Tattoo Song," "Buck-It," "Cars & Girls "(see video) and" What Love Can Do ". We think also fair to say that most tracks sound timeless and that's a plus for songs that are between 20 and 30 years. Fans of "RAZ" will be very happy with this compilation album.

...BECAUSE SOME OF US THINK THAT THIS STUFF IS IMPORTANT
What happens when you mix what is - arguably - the world's most interesting record company, with an anarchist manic-depressive rock music historian polymath, and a method of dissemination which means that a daily rock-music magazine can be almost instantaneous?

Most of this blog is related in some way to the music, books and films produced by Gonzo Multimedia, but the editor has a grasshopper mind and so also writes about all sorts of cultural issues which interest him, and which he hopes will interest you as well.
