THOM THE WORLD POET: The Daily Poem

"Thom the World poet is an old mate of mine from way back in my history. Even pre-dating Voiceprint, when I was running "Otter Songs" and Tom's poetry tapes and guest appearances with Daevid Allen, Gilli Smyth and Mother Gong are well known and highly regarded. It just felt right to include a daily poem from Thom on our Gonzo blog and when I approached him to do so, he replied within seconds!!! Thom is a great talent and just wants to spread poetry, light and positive energy across the globe. If we at Gonzo can help him do that - why not?"

THE IMPOSSIBLE TASK OF SUBDUING THE COLONIES

IN THE SAME WAY

As King George  had to resort to mercenaries

to send foreign troops to the American colonies

France resumed hostilities,sensing this dilemma..

Foreign wars are still draining our National Treasure

and Blackwater mercenaries have been fighting them for fifteen years.

We commit fewer actual troops this way-but the roll call numbers

are silently supplemented by private companies staffing.

Many of the incidents of civilian damage/loss of life

have been due to mercenaries and drones.

Distance has always been a factor in foreign wars

Now the wars have come home.Streets are ablaze

and black citizens are righteously aggrieved.

 Will they secede?After the American War of Independence

came our Civil War.Both are still being fought.Within us..
