THOM THE WORLD POET: The Daily Poem

"Thom the World poet is an old mate of mine from way back in my history. Even pre-dating Voiceprint, when I was running "Otter Songs" and Tom's poetry tapes and guest appearances with Daevid Allen, Gilli Smyth and Mother Gong are well known and highly regarded. It just felt right to include a daily poem from Thom on our Gonzo blog and when I approached him to do so, he replied within seconds!!! Pogroms,Crusades,invasions,jihads

Occasional immolations,assassinations 

leading to a First World War..Europa suffers

plague,starvation,siege,history.No new here..

Only Olde Ruins to photograph,visit -as evidence

there Once Was Civilization.But The Louvre closed for floods

Petain a stain that will not Vichy wash off/collaborators

mean more than Art,and Galleries become History,too..

Pining for Mythical Pasts is also history-nostalgia for Wagner,Hitler

Not so long ago it was Poles,piled Jews.Now Palestinians,behind walls

like Jericho?Hadrian?China?Calais?Mix and match tides of refugees and racism.

Tell me of Guernica  and Gulag.Mother Europa suffers enough!Greek debt vs Temples
