TONIGHT BELONGS TO GEORGE
GEORGE LIVES IN THE GREEN
BELT
where he has his own
encampment
away from others, with his guitar and
bare personal essentials
George often cycles in Wednesday night
to play guitar and sing
He has been missing for a month.Tonight
he comes in ,thin,pale,wan,exhausted
He has fallen and his head has cuts
where the wound is healing
He has not eaten for days.So we feed
him.Everyone has love for him
They advise him to go to St Davids ,as
he has lost his phone and they will assist him
Texas is hard for those on the
edge. They fall, too easily.George eats and his eyes return
He is still in shock, but glad to be
back among his tribe.Every body cares.
Fonty advises helpful heath
practices.Monica seeks a lift for him back to his camp.
His bag is stuffed with
goodwill.Perhaps this is the future, where the vulnerable
are thrown upon the graciousness of
their own-whether family,friends,elders or young
Perhaps we have entered the Age of
Self-Help-where all we have is each other.
Hold Close,Brother!I see another round
of funding cuts
but not for those who make
them...
