Rob Ayling, yer Gonzo Grande Fromage, writes:

"Thom the World poet is an old mate of mine from way back in my history. Even pre-dating Voiceprint, when I was running "Otter Songs" and Thom's poetry tapes and guest appearances with Daevid Allen, Gilli Smyth and Mother Gong are well known and highly regarded. It just felt right to include a daily poem from Thom on our Gonzo blog and when I approached him to do so, he replied within seconds!!! Thom is a great talent and just wants to spread poetry, light and positive energy across the globe. If we at Gonzo can help him do that - why not?

Happy Birthday, Samuel Taylor Coleridge
"AN OVERBALANCE OF ENJOYMENT"(Samuel Taylor Coleridge)
Your eyes can choose to discern or ignore/to edit experience or to censor
Your ears can close down to harsh and abrasive assaults /to wear earplugs
Your hands can hug and cuddle or slap and punch and clap
Your feet can walk towards or away from pleasurable experiences like that
You have choice in every moment/to whatever degree you will allow yourself
To allow your senses to let sunshine, enthusiasm, energy and joy to trespass
or to withdraw,become isolated,morose,alone ,enervated,depressed.
I could have walked one thousand footsteps towards or away from you
Even now, intimacy ,friendship and creative collaborations are still in view
it is just my eyes. They do not see as clearly nor as well-as they used to
My ears are full to distractions. My hands don't know what to do
I can no longer go on doing just exactly what i am used to.
"Choice in every moment"=seems the hardest thing to do.

What happens when you mix what is - arguably - the world's most interesting record company, with an anarchist manic-depressive rock music historian polymath, and a method of dissemination which means that a daily rock-music magazine can be almost instantaneous?

Most of this blog is related in some way to the music, books and films produced by Gonzo Multimedia, but the editor has a grasshopper mind and so also writes about all sorts of cultural issues which interest him, and which he hopes will interest you as well.
