Auburn captivated
audiences around the world with its unique blend of Americana, blues
and roots. The voice of Liz Lenten has been described as so soft that it will make you curl your hair and with an emotional fragility that is not afraid to show its full range of vocal tones . With varied influences, from Bonnie Raitt, Billie Holiday, Amy Winehouse to Kate Bush , her songs are strikingly melodic. She has toured extensively with artists such as Sophie Ellis Bextor, Jefferson Starship, Live Dead 69, Martin Carthy, Dave Swarbrick , and many others.
Liz, a very unusual English rose (she describes herself as a half-breed - descending from several places in Eastern Europe )
now lives in the Lincolnshire Wolds, where she spends her time writing,
playing, and directing bands. music for young people living in rural
areas and in other difficult circumstances. She also manages other
artists, including Eliza Carthy and Shane MacGowan . She was nominated for an English Heritage Inspiration Award in 2012 for her work that brought singing and music to the community.
The new album was mainly written during the last months of 2018, in full wave of inspiration! As always with Liz Lenten ,
her lyrics cover the usual range of reflections of emotions and
situations - focusing on trust, in all kinds of relationships and
situations. Like Auburn's previous releases, the group's new album was
recorded again in Nashville. Liz said: Nashville is one of the most wonderful cities in the world , full of music and creativity. My award-winning producer Thomm Jutz ( Nanci Griffith, Mary Gauthier, Bill Anderson, Otis Gibbs, Mac Wiseman ) brings my ideas to life, so I'll go anywhere!And the musicians are incredible - all incredibly talented and sensitive - and the lovely people .
