DROWNED IN THE MEDITERRANEAN
Whether coming from Libya or Syria
Images of orange life vests (and their failure
opened our eyes to this death of innocence.
Now it repeats ,in the waters of the Rio Grande..
another child drowned.Another life.Another name.
Meanwhile ,in cages,children sans soap or showers
Worse than Concentration Camps-because volunteers
who donate essentials are not allowed to do so.
Civilization relies upon humanity behaving well.
Deaths and deportations we have all seen before
And we do not desire any more.
