EVERY PERSON WHO KNEW HIM
Carries his name now.Some have poems.
Most hold memories(personal,public)
One or two have books ,photographs,archives
of Austin's most personal poet.Who was he?
Well,he wrote endlessly,was published much,
and won the Austin Book Award.A pocket park
is dedicated to his memory in his beloved Hyde Park.
Ruta Maya is gone,as is La Dolce Vita-where he
read,wrote and performed his poetry.Once @Quacks,
there were copies of his work.Once,it was published
regularly in the Hyde Park Newsletter.His habitats vanished.
His poems revived once a year at Malvern Books.For you
who did not know his grace-i guess it is time to GOOGLE...
and/or to come out tonight to his annual birthday reading
