THOM THE WORLD POET: The Daily Poem

Rob Ayling, yer Gonzo Grande Fromage, writes:

"Thom the World poet is an old mate of mine from way back in my history. Even pre-dating Voiceprint, when I was running "Otter Songs" and Thom's poetry tapes and guest appearances with Daevid Allen, Gilli Smyth and Mother Gong are well known and highly regarded. It just felt right to include a daily poem from Thom on our Gonzo blog and when I approached him to do so, he replied within seconds!!! Thom is a great talent and just wants to spread poetry, light and positive energy across the globe. If we at Gonzo can help him do that - why not?"

STILL STUCK IN 2019
SLOW DAYS SLIPPING AWAY
Don't wish to leap to the future
Cannot get stuck in the passed
Days between nights of dream
Catch me caught between
fire and the frying pan.Cannot leap over
with affirmations nor resolutions.
Litany of failed intentions behind me like pollution
I know that time will go and leave me alone again
But what of fine and friendly friends?
Must they make and break promises like actors
whose lines come from a scripted time?
Or are we free simply top be in this moment now
like Ram Dass,before he flipped the script
and escaped the wheel of karma on the ground
