Rob Ayling writes:
"Thom the World poet is an old mate of mine from way back in my history. Even pre-dating Voiceprint, when I was running "Otter Songs" and Tom's poetry tapes and guest appearances with Daevid Allen, Gilli Smyth Mother Gong are well known and highly regarded. It just felt right to include a daily poem from Thom on our Gonzo blog and when I approached him to do so, he replied with in seconds!!! Thom is a great talent and just wants to spread poetry, light and positive energy across the globe. If we at Gonzo can help him do that - why not? why not indeed!!" (The wondrous poetpic is by Jack McCabe, who I hope forgives me for scribbling all over it with Photoshop)
THE BOOK OF WATER
WATER DOES NOT NEED WORDS(NOR US!
We who came from water, made of water, pilgrimage to water
play water sports and add chlorine and fluoride to our drinking water-
well-we need its blessing!Long before us,water was Holy!
Long before religions used its efficacy to Bless and baptise
water was more than a goddess.It was(and is)Life itself.
You can live without food ,O breatharians!
but you can not live without water. Before we ask water to be clean and pure
perhaps we need start with ourselves.Rivers run(we dam them)
Creeks giggle(we pipe from them)Lakes are left standing water
when they want to be wild, flowing, free!Just like you and me!
Blessed with water in drought times.Water is our life-and its own
Sweet Benediction!
