Yes to perform classics in Aust, NZ

17:12 Sun Jun 29 2014

Yes will tour Australia in November, performing two of their classic albums Fragile and Close To The Edge from start to finish.

Fragile was the fourth Yes album, released in 1971.

It was the band's first album to feature artwork by Roger Dean, who also designed the Yes logo.

Fragile gave Yes a No. 4 US hit with Roundabout. The album peaked at No. 4 in the US, selling over 2,000,000 copies.

Fragile also marked the debut of keyboard player Rick Wakeman in the band.

Close To The Edge, released in 1972, was the fifth Yes album.

The three-track album featured the epic 18:43 title track on side one and And You And I and Siberian Khatru taking up all of side two. It reached No. 3 in the US and sold over 1,000,000 copies.

The current line-up of Yes is Chris Squire, Steve Howe, Alan White, Geoff Downes and new singer Jon Davison who joined the band in 2012.

Yes will release their 21st studio album Heaven & Earth in July, 2014.

...BECAUSE SOME OF US THINK THAT THIS STUFF IS IMPORTANT
What happens when you mix what is - arguably - the world's most interesting record company, with an anarchist manic-depressive rock music historian polymath, and a method of dissemination which means that a daily rock-music magazine can be almost instantaneous?

Most of this blog is related in some way to the music, books and films produced by Gonzo Multimedia, but the editor has a grasshopper mind and so also writes about all sorts of cultural issues which interest him, and which he hopes will interest you as well.
