A great band, dubbed “The next Beatles,” Badfinger had early success with “Come and Get It,” “Baby Blue,” “Day After Day,” and “No Matter What.” But their momentum was halted with bad deals, bad contracts, bad management, money problems (due to bad management), lawsuits, suicides, and more. Joey Molland is the last surviving member of the band’s classic lineup. He played guitar, wrote a ton of songs, and sang lead on a number of cuts as well. And, lucky for me, he’s a nice guy who agreed to a long interview in advance of a local show.
