"Thom the World poet is an old mate of mine from way back in my history. Even pre-dating Voiceprint, when I was running "Otter Songs" and Thom's poetry tapes and guest appearances with Daevid Allen, Gilli Smyth and Mother Gong are well known and highly regarded. It just felt right to include a daily poem from Thom on our Gonzo blog and when I approached him to do so, he replied within seconds!!! Thom is a great talent and just wants to spread poetry, light and positive energy across the globe. If we at Gonzo can help him do that - why not?"
IN EDWARD MUNCH'S COTTAGE IN OSLO
THERE IS A TOUR GUIDE
Dressed as Edward Munch.
And i do believe he believes he is Munch-
what he shared best was the fact that
like Rodin,Munch made copies of his best works-
GIRLS ON A BRIDGE and THE SCREAM..etc
All of these are different. All worthy in themselves
So the person who paid $120 million for THE SCREAM
got ripped off.More SCREAMS exist than in a mental ward.
More art frauds than art.More counterfeit than currency.
Salvador Dali signed blank canvases,to be painted by his apprentices
Andy Warhol made multiple images of pop personalities
The factory system of art is satirized best by BANKSY
whose best provenance is ATTRIBUTED to Banksy
Art sings.Money follows-rarely for the Van Goghs of this world
More for their butterfly collectors...
The mystery buyer who paid a record-breaking $120 million for Edvard Munch's The Scream is New York City financier Leon Black, according to the Wall Street Journal,
which says "several people close to the collector" have confirmed the
buy. The billionaire chief of investment firm Apollo Global Management
sits on the board of New York's Metropolitan Museum of Art and the
Museum of Modern Art, meaning a tug-of-war over the Norwegian
masterpiece's next home may be in the cards.
Munch created four versions of
the famous painting, but the one in Black's hands is the only one not in
an Oslo museum. Black and wife Debra are among the world's foremost art
collectors, and their $750 million collection already boasts drawings
by Vincent van Gogh and Raphael, Picasso paintings, and watercolors by
JMW Turner. "I wish museum directors knew as much about art as Leon
Black does," says Old Master dealer Richard Feigen. "Nobody has his
wingspan." (Read more Edvard Munch stories.)
