WE HAD JAMMED TOGETHER BEFORE
But tonight on the front porch/he was accompanied
by two beauteous maidens,both fresh from Moscow
One had traveled to Australia last year(Brisbane,Sydney,Melbourne)
Both were fresh,clear,attentive, interesting (and interested)
They looked deeply into the poetry books,and understood
They listened ot the poems,and cared
They went back in to join the jam,as we talked...
And the Russian soul is poetic,and deep
Aware of pain and pleasure ,emotions wrapped in words
Both smiled like a kiss,and danced away with their musician
Having given the gift of clear and conscious attention
And gaining the respect between two cultures/two peoples/two nations..
